Instructions
Heat large cooking pot on medium-high heat on your stove.
Measure the cooking oil and popcorn kernels. Set aside.
Add the cooking oil and 1 popcorn kernel to the cooking pot.
Once the popcorn kernel has popped, add the remaining popcorn kernels to the pot ad cover with lid.
Once the kernels start popping, shake the pot up every few seconds carefully while keeping the lid on the pot. This step ensures that the popcorn can move around and not burn.
Once the popping has stopped, turn the stove top off and transfer the popcorn to a large serving bowl to slightly cool down.
Now add your butter (if using) to the pot to let it melt.
Once the butter is melted, pour it over the popcorn and mix to coat it well.
Sprinkle with salt if desired. Or with a seasoning mix of your choice and enjoy!
Storing left over popcorn
Store any left over popcorn in an air tight container or zip lock bag at room temperature for up to 3 days.
